An experiment with UTEE

This card was the result of a bit of experimenting with some UTEE.  The heart shape was die cut from some grunge paper and covered with two layers of black UTEE. It was then stamped onto using one of the  My Stamp Box stamps then gold acrylic paint rubbed over.  Because the UTEE layer was quite thick and heavy, the heart started to curl up but that just added to the distressed look.
It can be seen on the My Stamp Box web site along with the other Design Team  projects.

Creative Inspirations challenge # 54

This is my card for the new Creative Inspirations challenge which is to use a template. The design team were given some templates by this weeks sponsor The Cutting Cafe and I chose this cute teabag holder. It could also be used as a gift card holder as inside there are little pockets .

I can fly.

I've managed to sneak in a journal page this week amid the madness that is half term holidays.  I couldn't let a week go by without adding an entry so a late night of cutting and sticking was just the ticket to get my 'fix'.

This is for Wednesday Stampers 'I Can Fly' prompt and as well as a Tim Holtz die and embossing folder I've used stamps from My Stamp Box and Clear Art Stamps.

I like driving in my car.....its not quite a jaguar! (Madness)

I'm quite late this week posting my entry for the Wednesday Stampers challenge and more than a little late with my journal page in my altered book but it's been a truly busy week and next week being half term won't be any less so.

The Wednesday Stampers theme is transportation and the journal page picked last week by Laurence is Cars. So here I am killing two birds with one stone so to speak.  The car stamp is actually a foam stamp from a childrens set.

ATC swap.

It's just a quickie today as I'm super busy , but I thought I'd share my ATC with you which was part of a swap on the Mini Books group.  The theme was colour and I chose White.

In Distress.

The new challenge theme for Creative Inspirations is " Distressing".

We were given some digital images to work with from Stitchy Stamps and I jumped at the chance to use this Big Ben image. I thought it would lend itself perfectly to a bit of a distress treatement. I printed it out onto some cheap t-shirt transfer paper and ironed it onto the paper background.  You just have to be a bit careful not to over heat it as it sticks to paper quicker than on fabric and over heating can result in the image being distorted.  Remember to reverse the image before printing especially lettering.

We're being sponsored this time by Stitchy Bear Stamps who are donating a $10 voucher and Simon Says who are also donating a $10 voucher.

All loved up.

We're getting all loved up for Valentines day on Monday (you can't ignore it) so no whimsy on my journal page this week, it's just a serious bit of collage. I wanted to keep it simple so as not to distract from the background colour and overlay in the middle.

Lots of loved up pages this week too on Wednesday Stampers.

A mixed media canvas.

I had sooo much fun creating this canvas using my stamps from My Stamp Box.  These Funky Flowers are just that - funky enough to add a touch of whimsy to the background and some dimension to the bottom.

To see some more of the project in detail, the project is up on the My Stamp Box blog site for todays show and tell.

Also this  friday 11th Feb. we'll be having a blog hop with lots more projects with a love theme AND a chance to win some stamps of your own. So make a date.

She had hope.

Wow February already, that's just not right!
I almost missed - well actually I did miss the deadline for the new page of my altered book and this time Lena has chosen the prompt. She wanted us to create an opening in our page and so I decided on an arch. Once I'd got the basic shape cut out the rest sort of came together on it's own. That's the second princess I've painted for this page and I can't say I'm overjoyed at this one either!

Lots of texture and paint on this page and a bit more doodling.
